The sexy singer is gearing up to release her third solo album on April 27.
Janelle Monae is dropping gems left and right!
In anticipation of her upcoming album, Dirty Computer (due out April 27), the smart, sexy, singer just released two new singles and videos on Thursday and you should probably stop whatever you’re doing and watch them right now because…wow.
“Django Jane” is a hip-hop hit that features Monet spitting bars about #BlackGirlMagic.
The video for “Django Jane” was co-directed by Andrew Donoho, Chuck Lighting and Lacey Duke and shows Monet as the queen she is. Wearing a regal crown while sitting on her throne, she unleashes a bold unapologetic flow on a song that embraces contradictions as part of the beauty of individuality.

“Black girl magic, y’all can’t stand it/ Y’all can’t ban it, made out like a bandit,” she rhymes on the track. Then things get a little more grimy with lines like “we gon’ start a motherfucking pussy riot / or we gon’ have to put them on a pussy diet.”

In it, Janelle Monae dons an array of colorful costumes as she hits da club with Tessa Thompson. Monae dances to the percussion-heavy tune while delivering electric vocals, pop hooks and confident, female-driven lyrics.
