A dream came true for a toddler who got the chance to meet her hero Michelle Obama in the flesh today, after a picture of her staring at the first lady’s portrait went viral.
Little Parker Curry had a dance party today with Michelle Obama, who posted a video on Twitter of the two cutting a rug.
Such cuteness!
Parker, I’m so glad I had the chance to meet you today (and for the dance party)! Keep on dreaming big for yourself…and maybe one day I’ll proudly look up at a portrait of you! pic.twitter.com/faUVTsYWun

A photo of Parker Curry started making its rounds on social media and soon went viral, showing the two-years-old in awe, staring at the painting of Michelle Obama hanging in the National Portrait Gallery. Parker’s mom said the toddler kept calling Obama a “queen” and couldn’t tear her eyes away from the portrait, even with a line of people waiting behind her.

According to Ben Hines, the man who took the viral photo, the little girl’s family were ahead of them in the line to see the painting of Michelle Obama.
Parker’s mom, Jessica Curry, tried to get her daughter to turn around but the toddler just wanted to stare at the painting of our forever first lady.
Jessica Curry posted:
“Parker was in front of the portrait, and I really wanted her to turn around so I could get a picture with her, and she genuinely, honestly would not turn around. She was uncooperative with me because she was just so focused on the portrait and studying it, and she was just so fascinated.”

“In further discussion with (Parker) yesterday and today, I realized that she believes Michelle Obama is a queen, and she wants to be a queen as well …,” Curry shared.
“As a female and as a girl of color, it’s really important that I show her people who look like her that are doing amazing things and are making history so that she knows she can do it.”
“It was so touching and uplifting for me to see this beautiful child looking at a beautiful portrait of a powerful woman,” Hines said of the photo he took. “I was so delighted to have been in the right place at the right time.”
“I think we were all just smiling, and her joy and her awe was infectious,” he said.
