The decision came after the singer’s attorney Shawn Holley reportedly gave several witness statements to the Los Angeles Police Department that contradicted alleged victim Andrea Buera’s account of what transpired during NBA All-Star Weekend this past February, according to Page Six.

The case will now be handed over to the Los Angeles City Attorney, who will decide ultimately decide whether or not to charge Songz with the lesser charge of misdemeanor domestic violence, Page Six.

Since his arrest and subsequent release in March, Songz has denied the allegations on social media – assuring fans that things aren’t what they seem.

“For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me,” he Tweeted.

“I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.”

In the meantime, his alleged victim is being represented by attorney Lisa Bloom, and has also obtained a restraining order against him. She claims that Songz went into a jealous rage after seeing her talking to another man, according to TMZ. Also, she accused him of beating her into a concussion and causing her to be hospitalized.

“I represent the credible, bruised woman accusing Trey Songz of beating her, and more, last weekend in the Hollywood Hills,” Bloom said in a statement released to Us Weekly in February. “She alleges that she was hit multiple times in front of people who did not try to stop him. She has gone to the hospital and the police. Now it’s time for justice. There is no excuse for violence against women.”
