Now that the wedding is over, who will get the first interview with Meghan Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland?
Doria Ragland has been boosted to popularity since her daughter married Prince Harry. But rumors are swirling that she might talk to Oprah about what it's like
In a few short days, she’s become our favorite and most enigmatic person.
Social media buzzed on Saturday with comments regarding Doria Ragland’s quiet elegance and seemingly kind spirit as she watched her daughter, Meghan Markle, marry Prince Harry. Although Ragland, a yoga instructor and social worker who lives in Los Angeles, has kept her silence until now, there is speculation that this might soon end.
Ragland might soon reveal she will grant a TV interview to Oprah Winfrey, who was one of the wedding guests, The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting. Ragland was seen arriving at Oprah’s house earlier this month.

If this rumor is true, Ragland would become the first member of the Royal family to have granted such an interview since Sarah Ferguson.
The Herald quoted Hugh Vickers, royal commentator, as saying: “If it’s necessary to give one interview, that’s probably the one to do, though she’s done so brilliantly she doesn’t need to.”
The diversity and inclusion of the ceremony, that included an animated sermon by a Black bishop from Virginia, a gospel choir and performance by a prominent cellist who is Black, was a result of planning by the bride and groom, but also, Vickers told the Herald, a sign of the Royal family’s desire to welcome Ragland into the blue-blooded fold.
“The way the whole things was done was very inclusive, with Prince Charles stepping in to give (Meghan Markle) away,” Vickers said. “They obviously all get on very well privately.”
Ragland will probably not receive her own coat of arms, as were the parents of Kate Middleton, wife of Prince William, the Royal Commonwealth Society did announce plans last year to open a branch in the United States, the Herald reported. This move could one day bring the United States into the society as an associate member, according to the Herald.

The news organization reports that experts say what is most likely is that Ragland will quickly return to her life in Los Angeles, and stay in touch with her daughter and new family by telephone and regular trips to the United Kingdom.
Ragland, a fan of natural hair, old school music and snacks, is a clinical therapist who received her master’s degree in 2015 at the age of 61 with financial help from Meghan Markle.
