Shiggy has been known for his comedic ways on social media for a while, but his challenge to Drake’s #1 Billboard charted single, #Inmyfeelings has catapulted him into becoming a viral sensation. Since then, opportunities have been coming at Shiggy left and right. The most recent is the chance to showcase his acting skills in the Canadian rapper’s video for the hit single and gracing the “pink carpet” for the 2018 Video Music Awards.
During an interview with theGrio, Shiggy joked that he is still waiting on his one percent from Drake, but having his name attached to the dance craze that has inspired celebrities like LaLa, Ciara, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, and people all over the world is more than he ever could have imagined.

“The credit that I got with my name attached to it is good enough for me because I’m going to go out there and grind and get my money, just like the man did himself,” says the aspiring actor. “Drake just giving me that plug and that attention from the media is good enough for me. I’m going to get my own money.”

Shiggy also drop some advice for future Black creatives:
“Make sure when you do something, just put your name on it. That’s what a lot of people now a days don’t do for social media. [People] put their stuff out there but there’s no name attached to it and my name was attached to it, so you know ya’ boy got his credit.”
