Dennis Rodman likes to engage people who match his brand of oddness, hence his fond friendship with a notorious dictator. Now the NBA legend wants to collaborate with Kanye West and took to social media to summon the rapper and pitch a possible collaborative track called “Leaders of Love.”

Good grief.

“Hey man I thought about something. Let’s me and you do a track together man about world peace about leaders of love baby. Leaders of Love. You’re one. I’m one. Let’s get together baby and do this right,” he said in a video appealing to the rapper.

A Rodman and West track is not what the world needs right now, but if it tickles their fancy, then have at it!

Rodman’s apparently a big fan of the Ye rapper and thanked him for giving him a shout-out after the former Chicago Bulls player signed a jersey for West. That had to be especially special for West since he hails from the Chi.

“What’s up Kanye, this is D. Rod here. Over here at Newport Beach, man. Thanks a lot for the shout out with that jersey, man. Love your work, love your style, love your wife, your kids are beautiful.”

Rodman said his agent told him about the West shout-out.

“You know, I don’t do Instagram and stuff like that. My kids do it. I just know my agent called me and said, ‘Dennis, Kanye West gave you a good shout out’ I said, ‘OK, great,’” Rodman told Us Weekly.

“I think he’s a big Chicago Bulls fan. I think that he respects me as far as understanding my views. And Kanye, he’s doing amazing work around the world so I respect him too.”

“Matter of fact, I’m going to invite him next time I go to North Korea. If the door’s open in September, I will invite Kanye West with me to go to North Korea with me,” Rodman added.

Rodman’s been feeling some musical flavor these days and just last Saturday he surprised fans when he joined Pearl Jam on stage during their Chicago concert at PJ’s Wrigley Field. Rodman’s been an unofficial US ambassador who has tried for years to get US leaders to meet with Kim Jong-Un. He thanked the crowd at Wrigley for supporting his diplomatic efforts – that no one asked for.

“You people here are the only people on this planet Earth [that] gave me support. Thank all you guys!”
