The Download | November 6th: FAMU’s special rally and concert for Andrew Gillum + You can still register to vote today in many States

Your daily 60-second news recap.

It’s Election Day and theGrio is doing LIVE coverage from Florida and Georgia– two of the most important races in the country.

Last night at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU),  students and community members rallied for Andrew Gillum in a special concert hosted by Angela Rye and Diddy— special guests included FAMU alum, Will Packer, along with Tiffany Haddish, Dj Khaled, and Quavo (one of the three members of Migos) who was a surprise performer. R&B artist, Monica, gave theGrio an exclusive message about voting:

Andrew Gillum is the pride of FAMU, with many students saying their dreams are only boosted further by his success.

While many are celebrating and pushing for a Stacey Abrams gubernatorial win, racists are working overtime too. Racist robocalls went out pretending to be Oprah Winfrey— calling herself and Abrams negroes. Oprah took to Instagram to address the issue:

There are still states where you can walk up on Election Day and VOTE— California, D.C., Illinois and Connecticut are just a few of the places where you can register anytime. So, there is no excuse not to vote or at least make sure you help someone get to the polls today.

Don’t forget to VOTE today.
