Black Glam: Entrepreneur and hair stylist to the stars Kim Kimble reveals what inspires her

Stylist to the stars, Kim Kimble, sat down with Johnny Wright for a good catch-up session. The old friends and colleagues chopped it up about all things Kimble. The Chicago native has been staying booked and busy. A haircare product collection and a hair extension line, and a hair studio all bear the name Kim Kimble.
With a client list that includes mega star Beyoncé, beloved actress Gabrielle Union, R & B treasure Mary J. Blige, and super model Tyra Banks, Kimble is always on the move and has to keep her creative tank filled. It helps that her clientele can also serve as inspiration.

“I love working with Beyoncé. We just click really well. She’s an amazing artist and I learned so much from her. She’s a business woman and a consummate professional,” Kimble notes.
Kimble who worked on Life Size 2 with Tyra Banks and is currently working on the television series LA’s Finest with Gabrielle Union, also has a new show in development. Kimble previously starred in her own reality show called L.A. Hair.
“I find inspiration everywhere. Cultures inspire me, iconic people too. I love Diana Ross. I love the transition of her 60s hair all the way to the 80s and all of that,” shares Kimble.
Her son is not interested in the hair biz, but he is taking after his mom in other ways. “My son will do his own hair, but he’s an athlete. He’s like 6’3 and eats a lot! He wants to be a business man,” said Kimble of her son who is a business major.
