Wendy Williams’ estranged husband Kevin Hunter has opened up and seemingly finally come clean about his “wrongs” that has led the talk show host to file for divorce after 20-plus years of marriage, Page Six reports.

Hunter released a statement a day after Williams finally broke her silence and admitted that she will be leading the solo dolo, new life with only her son after she leaves a sober living facility in a few days.

‘It’ll be Wendy on her own’: Wendy Williams announces move from sober house

Hunter allegedly fathered a child with Sharina Hudson, and pictures surfaced of the two on a beach vacation. Williams reportedly filed the papers after Hunter confessed to the affair.

Said Hunter in his statement:

“28 years ago I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams. At the time, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my wife but would also change the face of entertainment and the world. I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally. I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family, and her amazing fans.”

“I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs. No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine. I ask that you please give me and my family privacy as we heal. Thank you.”

Word is that Williams served her husband the divorce papers in a box disguised as a present while he was at work at the show. Surprise!

Also, TMZ is reporting that Hunter will not have the executive producer title on the Wendy Williams show for much longer. Having him on set only brings Williams more stress and so removing him all together is in the best interest for the woman leading the program.

Williams put up a strong front on Monday as she confidently proclaimed to her audience,

“It’s crazy ’cause now my business is your business,” Williams said with a laugh, PEOPLE wrote.

“It’s kind of funny. Turnabout’s a fair game, I get it,” she added.

Williams also announced that she is “moving out of the sober house in just a few days,” adding “It’ll be Wendy on her own,” the report said.

She continued:

“You wear a different mask when you’re out here,” she said. “Everybody has things in their life that they’re embarrassed to share the world, or they’re frightened to share with the world, or they’re not ready to share with the world. Addressing my sobriety, my addiction, head-on has really helped me sort out every single compartment of my life.”

“I have a commitment to me and my son to come out of here better, stronger and faster than ever,” Williams said.

Ok, Wendy, do you!

Last month, Williams revealed on-air that she has been living in a sober house while she gets her addiction in check. The former radio DJ shared that her husband was the only person who knew she was seeking treatment.

“I’ve been dealing with issues with addiction, alcoholism, and I have a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son,” she said on Monday’s show. Williams went on to confess that life in the sober house was “one of the best things, honestly, that could have ever happened to me.”

We sure hope so.
