Ayesha Curry blames postpartum depression for botched boob job
The mom, wife, and chef says she made a "rash" decision.
Ayesha Curry continues to keep it real and she recently opened up about how postpartum depression led her to a botched boob job.
The chef, author, mother, and wife of Steph Curry shared the story of her ill-fated plastic surgery during an interview with Working Mother.
“I didn’t realize at the time, but after having (my second child) Ryan, I was battling a bit of postpartum that lingered for a while…It came in the form of me being depressed about my body. So I made a rash decision,” she told the magazine.
“The intention was just to have them lifted, but I came out with these bigger boobs I didn’t want. I got the most botched boob job on the face of the planet…They’re worse now than they were before. I would never do anything like that again, but I’m an advocate of if something makes you happy, who cares about the judgement?”
Ayesha Curry explained that her PPD manifested as insecurity about her body, leading her to go under the knife.
The 30-year-old has been open about prioritizing her mental health and revealed to Jada Pinkett Smith that she takes medication for anxiety during a recent appearance on Red Table Talk.
Aside from spreading the word abut mental health, the busy wife and mom is making major strides in her career. She has launched a successful line of cookware, has opened three restaurants, and is a brand ambassador for CoverGirl and The Honest Company. She’s also set to executive produce and host ABC’s Family Food Fight, premiering on June 20.
