Bettie Jenifer, 44 was killed after a gunman fired a blaze of bullets, which struck her twice as she left the employment agency she owned.

She was married to Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh and Jenifer was also linked to a Baltimore drug kingpin, Kedrick Jenifer, NBC Washington reported.

Jenifer had married Attoh in Ghana in October, media outlets reported. He’s known for his role as “Kwame Mensah” in the Nigerian program Tinsel.

“It seems to be quite a complicated situation,” George Matthews, spokesman for the Greenbelt Police Department said.

According to reports, Jenifer moved on with her life after Kedrick was sentenced to 20-year sentence for distributing cocaine in Baltimore and Virginia, the outlet reports. According to the Baltimore Sun, Kedrick was ordered to forfeit four homes, hundreds of thousands of dollars and vehicles that included a Rolls-Royce and a Ferrari.

NBC reported that Kedrick filed for divorce on on April 9 and Jenifer also filed six days later.

“When it comes to relationships, remaining faithful is never an option but a priority,” Attoh tweeted before his wife’s death.

“[Investigators] are aware of the tweets as well and that’s all part of the investigation,” Greenbelt police spokesman Mathews told ABC7.
