Fans are applauding Mike Tyson after the conversation he had with Lil Boosie recently on his Hotboxin’ podcast.
The New Orleans-born rapper made some transphobic comments about Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Zaya over the summer and Tyson addressed them on a recent episode.

Tyson says that his daughter was actually the one who wanted to confront Boosie about his beliefs, per TMZ Live. Tyson wouldn’t let that happen but agreed to talk to Boosie about his comments.
As reported by theGrio, Boosie posted a video to Instagram this summer saying:
“Don’t cut his d–k off, bruh. Like, bruh, for real, if he gonna be gay, let him be gay. But don’t cut his d–k off, bruh. Don’t dress him as a woman, dawg. He’s 12 years old. He’s not up there yet. He hasn’t made his final decisions yet. Don’t cut his f—ing d–k off, Dwyane Wade.”
In the podcast interview with Tyson, Boosie was asked if he harbored any homosexual feelings and the rapper responded that he was “straight as an arrow” but he felt Zaya was too young to make a final decision about her gender identity.
He told Tyson that if Zaya “was a motherf**king 19-year-old, 18-year-old, grown person, I probably wouldn’t have, I know I wouldn’t have said anything. I just felt like … that’s a child. A child at 12 can’t make that decision.”
“That’s just how I feel,” Boosie added. “And certain things I talk about. I just felt like that was going too far. You calling him a ‘her,’ that’s going too far. At 12 years old.”
But Tyson countered by asking why Boosie felt he had a say in another family’s decisions on child-rearing. Boosie ended up apologizing, again, to Zaya and her father.
Tyson told the TMZ hosts that his daughter was very serious about confronting Boosie after he made the statements.
“My daughter,” said Tyson … “She flew all the way from New York City to Los Angeles, California where I’m at just to be there because she thought Boosie was so disrespectful she had to confront him.”
Tyson admits, “I was Boosie at one time” so he was fine with addressing the controversy with him.
He says Boosie took it well.

“He conducted himself like a gentleman. It went okay. It didn’t go like I anticipated it to go. My daughter has a lot of courage and stuff.”
During the wide-ranging conversation, both men scared some of their issues as Tyson admitted that for a long time he didn’t like who he was, describing himself as an abused child who later lashed out at others.
He encouraged Boosie to, “win the fight over those demons.”
