60 percent of ‘Karens’ supporting Biden in final hours before election: report
A new study broke down presidential election voting trends by common first names and compared the results per candidate and 60% those named Karen supported Biden
In 2020, the name Karen has become synonymous with racist, white women who use law enforcement to bend the rules against Black and minority communities in their favor. New data has revealed, however, voters with the popular first name are supporting the Democratic candidate.

Data released by the New York Times and Siena College from polls conducted in battleground states looked at popular names and their relationship to voting trends. 17,000 likely voters in 18 battleground states were surveyed since September to compile the list. According to the information collected, people named Richard were more likely to vote for President Donald Trump, while people named Karen are swaying toward former Vice President Joe Biden.
In total, the study used only names with more than 30 respondents and ended up with 102 names in all. Richard, Thomas, William, Nancy, and a four-way percentage tie between Michael, Robert, James, and Jennifer have the highest percentage for Trump. Karen, Barbara, Lisa, Patricia, and Elizabeth are leading the way for Biden.

The data listed those with the first name Donald with the biggest margin between Biden and Trump support. People who share a first name with POTUS were 68% favorable towards the commander in chief by a margin of +48. On the other side, those named Joseph were split evenly with 45% both sides.
Janet is the women’s name listed with the highest percentage in support of Trump with 64%, a +32 over Biden. Sarah leads the way for popular women’s names in supporting the former vice president. Voters named Sarah were 68% likely to submit their ballot for the Democratic nominee compared to 24% of Sarah’s voting for Trump. Dorothy, Catherine, and Margaret are also showed high support of Biden.
According to theGrio, recent poll numbers showed Biden leading Trump in multiple states including Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. A survey from the Elections Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison finds Biden is currently holding steady above 50 percent in all three states.
