Gibson's mother Priscilla Murray is in the ICU, the singer/actor shared with fans in a series of posts on Instagram on Sunday.
Tyrese Gibson is asking for prayer warriors as his mother has been hospitalized with COVID-19 and pneumonia.
Gibson’s mother, Priscilla Murray, is being treated in the ICU, he shared with fans in a series of posts on Instagram on Sunday. The Fast and Furious actor shared a photo of himself taking a break from filming after receiving the news of Murray’s hospitalization.
“My mother is in a coma, in ICU, with Pneumonia and she caught Covid they got her so sedated she can’t breathe or even eat on her own,” he shared. “I need prayers the most sincere prayers from you prayer warriors.”
Gibson asked, “Please guys praise you pray and even write out the prayers in the comments so that me and my family can read and be encouraged….I feel helpless and need my prayer warriors to cover my mother please please keep her father God she’s got so much more to do.”
The actor/singer previously called on fans to pray for his mother back in 2020 when she was hospitalized in critical condition, theGrio reported.
“Pray for my mother…Prayer warriors? If you are looking at this post right now, please pray for my mother. Please not with just emojis. Please, actually pray…sincerely,” he said in an Instagram post.
He continued, saying, “Thank you. Father God we love you and trust you. Please, not now. Please, I’m my mom’s baby boy.”
In 2017, Gibson purchased a house for his mother in celebration of her 11th year of sobriety. He revealed that his mother’s alcoholism “killed” his childhood.
In 2000, Gibson and his mother made an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in honor of Mother’s Day to reflect on his tough upbringing in Watts, Calif.
On Sunday, Gibson posted a photo taken outside Murray’s room noting in the caption: “She shall live she will not die saideth the Lord Jesus Christ……. Thank you for your outpouring of prayers love and energy mother is still here and she’s still fighting,” he wrote.
“Since I’ve arrived I feel the warmth of love and angels surrounding mother……. I feel this powerful overwhelming since of calm……. That Feeling that my mother prays and calls on Jesus everyday so none of this medicine attached can do what he’s already done,” Gibson continued.
He then asked fans to “continue to pray over my mother,” noting that “the prayers are working all of her vital signs are UP since last night.”
“Life is to be lived from here I believe it and I ask that you continue to pray over my mother the prayers are working all of her vital signs are UP since last night I believe in the mighty power of Jesus to keep mother and cover mother WE have so much more to do,” he wrote.
He concluded the caption by sharing, “Thank you Jesus for every 24 hours literally thank you Jesus for every BREATH!!!! Life belongs to you and I’m so grateful that you have blessed my mother to see another day……….. Amen Amen Amen!!!!!!!!!!”
Gibson later posted a video saying that he and his mother “had their share of issues” in the past, adding, “but as I sit here, I’m thanking God for every breath … I am so grateful. She’s right here.”
