For most of the ’90s, when Bad Boy Records was in its prime, it was one of the premier labels in hip-hop.
The brand launched the careers of Biggie, Ma$e, 112, and Faith Evans, and Diddy built a reputation as a producer of stars.
But the Bad Boy of old is no more.
Rappers that arrived with heavy underground buzz, like Red Café and MGK, still reside on the Bad Boy bench with no new projects on the way.
And promising Baltimore emcee King Los just left Bad Boy to go independent.
In an interview with The Breakfast Club, rapper 50 Cent spoke on Diddy’s history as a solo artist and the Get Rich Or Die Tryin emcee is still confused by why any artist would want to be associated with the current head of Revolt TV.
“Puffy might be the destination for anybody going nowhere,” said 50 Cent. “Nobody survived him.”
Prominent artists that hit the peak of their career with Diddy but fizzled out afterward include, Loon, Carl Thomas, Yung Joc and many more.
