Recently, Paula Patton sat down with Robin Roberts to discuss her new role as a brand ambassador for Ellen Tracy. The interview aired on the Friday broadcast of on Good Morning America, and of course the subject of Patton’s pending divorce from R&B singer Robin Thicke came up.
She told Roberts:
The thing is you can’t wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child. And they’re so full of life and wonder. And he brings me so much joy.
I feel like everything happens for a reason. And then you have to move on and grow from there.
Last fall, Patton filed for divorce, even after Thicke tried to woo her back with an ill-fated album titled Paula. In a subsequent interview with Oprah, Thicke confessed that his ego and use of drugs and alcohol were to blame for many of their issues.
While she is now putting on a brave front, the actress did admit that the separation has had its challenges. Watch the segment below.
