Meredith Vieira shuts down Stacey Dash for calling wage gap 'an excuse'

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the The Meredith Vieira Show, Stacey Dash had plenty to say about the lack of equal pay between men and women.

Most notably, the Clueless actress stated that she doesn’t agree with stars like Rita Wilson who champion for equal pay, because women who complain about the wage gap are justing making excuses.

Dash opined,

It’s an excuse. Stop making excuses. If there are opportunities, seize them. And be prepared for them. And be the best, if that’s what it takes. If you have to be extraordinary, be extraordinary.

Upon hearing this, Vieira immediately points out to the controversial Fox News host that women make 70 cents on the dollar and that, at the rate things are going, her 22-year-old daughter won’t see equal pay until she’s in her 60s. Then proceeds to explain that wage equality is a systemic problem.

Dash’s response, “I don’t know if that’s true.”

What results is the starlet getting (respectfully) schooled on wage equality by the talk show host.
