REPORT - A Chicago police officer is now under investigation after a video surfaced showing him saying Michael Brown “deserved it.”
A Chicago police officer is now under investigation after a video surfaced showing him saying Michael Brown “deserved it.”
In the clip posted on YouTube, two white officers are talking to two young African-American men about allegations of racial profiling. During the confrontation, one of the young men said to the officers, “We don’t trust y’all. You heard about Mike Brown.”
“Mike Brown deserved it.” The officer shot back, “Mike Brown should’ve shot his ass in the face.”
After the video surfaced, police spokesman Anthony Gugliemi said the department has opened an internal affairs investigation of the officer who made the statement about Michael Brown.
“CPD prides itself on fostering productive relationships with communities to help make Chicago safer,” said a spokesman. “The comments in this video are troubling and do not represent the views of this department.”
