Gabrielle Union & Omar Epps offer hilarious & real love advice
In the highly anticipated holiday movie Almost Christmas, Gabrielle Union plays a divorcee who comes home for the holidays and gets pursued by an old flame (Omar Epps). Through lots of awkward moments and laughs, the two figure out whether they have what it takes to try love again.
Both Union and Epps know a thing or two about love — Union is married to NBA basketball star Dwayne Wade (this is the second marriage for both stars), and Epps has been married more than a decade to songstress Keisha from the R&B group Total.
When asked what it takes to find love again, Union offered this hilarious advice.
“If your type hasn’t worked for you in 40 years — guess what? Your type sucks!” Union told theGrio.
“Time to change your type. Think outside the box! Maybe they’re younger, maybe they’re older, maybe they don’t come in the shape or size or color that you assume they would come in.”
“But there’s so many dope people out there that if you open yourself up and get out of your own way, you’re going to have a lot of options. A lot more options than you think.”
And how has Epps kept his marriage going so long?
“By liking, keeping it innocent,” Epps told theGrio. “Like I said, I still like my girl — of course I love her and I’m in love with her, but I like her as a person. I’m still discovering her and us and it’s still fresh for me.”
