According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump seemed “surprised” by just how much the job of the presidency entailed. For example, Trump aides apparently did not seem to realize that they would need to replace the entire staff of the West Wing.

Following the meeting with Trump, Obama was described as having realized that Trump “needs more guidance” and reportedly plans to spend more time with him so that he can prepare for the monumental task of being president of the United States.
This is perhaps not surprising, though, considering Trump is the only person to be elected president without ever having held public office or serving in the military.
