CHICAGO (AP) – Oprah Winfrey is again taking on sexual abuse in a pair of shows she calls “two of the most phenomenal” she’s ever done.
Harpo Productions said Thursday that each of 200 men in “The Oprah Winfrey Show” audience will hold a photo of himself at the age when he says he was first abused. Winfrey will be joined on the Nov. 5 episode by filmmaker Tyler Perry and a psychologist who works with male sexual abuse survivors.
In the show’s second half airing Nov. 12, the men will discuss abuse’s impact on their relationships as they are joined by their spouses, partners and girlfriends.
Winfrey has said she was abused. The talk show host says she’s proud of the episodes and hopes they “can be an open door to freedom” for men who have been abused.
