MIAMI — Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth has started serving a 30-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter.
Stallworth plead guilty Tuesday in a Miami courtroom for killing a pedestrian earlier this year while driving drunk. After his release from jail, he must serve two years of house arrest and spend eight years on probation. Stallworth also has reached a confidential financial settlement to avoid a lawsuit from the victim’s family.
Stallworth’s attorney says the plea agreement will allow his client to resume his football career.
