Haitians search for family – and hope – in makeshift communities (VIDEO)

In Haiti, people are searching for hope in any way they can. That means forming communities when there are no other options.

Near the airport in Port-au-Prince, small homeless villages are popping up in the wake of the earthquake. Many times, these villages are nothing more than tarp tents strung together. People there are in dire need of food, medical supplies and water. It’s where people congregate and rely on each other to help find missing loved ones.

“My brother. I’m searching for him,” Pierre Robeson told theGrio’s Todd Johnson as he went searching from tent to tent. Food is important to him, but find his brother, Junior, is his first priority.
