As reported earlier in a breaking news story, Usher moves to the head of the Hot 100 ranking with “OMG,” featuring will.i.am, his ninth single to top the list.
With the 6-1 ascension, Usher becomes the first artist to top the list in the past three decades. His first No. 1, “Nice & Slow” ruled for three weeks in February 1998, and was followed by three chart-toppers in 2001, four in 2004 and one in 2008. Only Madonna and Janet Jackson were able to pull off the three-decade achievement in the 80s, 90s and 00s.
“OMG” takes both the Airplay and Digital Gainer awards, moving into the top 10 of Radio Songs (14-7) and to No. 1 on Digital Songs (2-1).
