Autopsy of 7-year-old girl proves Detroit police cover up, says family attorney

Lawyer Geoffrey Fieger said today that an independent autopsy proves 7-year-old Detroit girl Aiyana Stanley-Jones was not shot the way police claim and authorities are covering up what really happened.

Fieger says the independent exam by the Macomb County, Michigan medical examiner determined that Aiyana was shot through the head during the police raid on her home last month.

Police have said the shot was fired from inside the home while an officer and the girl’s grandmother scuffled.

Fieger said the trajectory of the shot shows it was fired from the porch and through the open doorway.

“He pulled the trigger and shot into the house. That’s not an accident. Why he did it, I can’t tell you. What he was aiming at, I can’t tell you. But, I can tell you it’s not an accident,” Fieger said.

“I want to hear an apology on behalf of the family, the first thing I want to do is hear an apology. Second of all, I want them to tell the truth.”
