Viewers: Interview ‘reflects poorly on the community’

If you Google the name Antonie Dodson, you will get about two thousand search results.

Antonie has become an overnight Internet sensation after the NBC affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama interviewed him after an attack on his sister.

Kelly Dodson was the victim of an attempted rape when a predator climbed into her bedroom while she was sleeping.

Antonie heard Kelly’s screams, ran into her room and feed off the attacker.

He seems like a hero for helping his sister; however, some viewers have criticized reporter Elizabeth Gentle for using Antonie’s interview in the story.

According to Gentle, viewers were offended and many responded by saying “interviews with people like Antonie reflects poorly on the community.”

Antonie has a different response to these critics.

“I’m so glad because I feel that I belonged on somebody’s TV,” Dodson said.

Antonie says he was just being himself.
