Former single dad steps up to pen book for daughters

When Michael Lockwood was a single divorced dad, he wrote down dating advice he planned to give his daughters when they grew up. Years later, he’s turned that advice into a book called, Women Have All The Power, Too Bad They Don’t Know It.

Michael who is the husband of Lisa Leslie Lockwood, the center of the Los Angeles Sparks and the most recognized player in the WNBA, says that the book is important for tweens because, ‘that’s the age when you make the most mistakes.” He attributes this to peer pressure.

“Peer pressure, and they have a whole bunch of pressure, media pressure, and just the images that are put out there. And I figure if you can catch them early and put some of these values in them early, it’ll—they’ll grow into, you know, doing better and knowing better,” says Lockwood.

He discusses sexual promiscuity, and the ways to ‘weed out the bad ones quick’. That is to say that men that do not wait for marriage are not worth a woman’s while to begin with.

“Well, you know, the thrill is in the hunt and any guy will tell you that. As soon as the woman gives in, you know, then we’re like, ’ Oh that’s not quite as fun as when I was chasing you,’” continues Lockwood. He discloses that he is working on a second book discussing the man and woman sexual double standard.
