Woman shows up with unloaded gun at TV station

There were some tense moments on Tuesday when 51-year-old Wendy Naidas showed up inside the ABC affiliate in Charlotte, North Carolina with a gun.

“Our procedures are that nobody’s allowed in without an appointment that’s confirmed, ” Joe Pomilla, General Manager said.

According to Pomilla, as the security guard opened the door, Nadias put the gun to her head.

Then, the station’s newscast went to black as the rest of the staff cleared out too.

“All of a sudden I just saw all the police officers swarming Channel 9 news,” witness Shawn Stitt said.

Pomilla said that Nadias had some financial issues and needed someone to talk to,

The police chief said that the gun may have been just for show as it was unloaded.
