INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) — Cleveland coach Byron Scott is not concerned about his job security despite the Cavaliers’ epic losing streak.
The Cavaliers have lost 26 straight games, matching the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1976-77) for the longest losing skid in pro sports history. Scott, who is in his first season with the club, said Thursday he is confident he is “the right man for the job” and believes he can turn the Cavaliers back into winners.
Scott has received no indication from team management that his job is in jeopardy.
“We’re all unhappy,” he said, “when it comes to winning and losing.”
The Cavaliers haven’t won since Dec. 18. They’ll host the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.
