Driver in fatal hit-and-run possessed child porn

The truck driver, who’s been charged with vehicular manslaughter after killing a motorcycle driver in Hatfield Township last week, now faces additional charges for having child porn on his cell phone.

Ernest D. Cohens, 42, of the Bronx, N.Y., is being charged with possession of child pornography after authorities discover a pornographic video featuring a child on his cell phone, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Cohens, who was driving a tractor-trailer, allegedly crashed into a motorcycle driven by 55-year-old Terry Kriebel of Sellersville while making a U-turn on Route 309 in Hatfield 6 a.m. Feb. 3, according to authorities.

Kreibel died in the crash in which his motorcycle became lodged under Cohens’ tractor-trailer and Cohen dragged the man and the bike for a short distance.

Cohens pulled the motorcycle from under his truck, helped another driver cover the victim up with a towel or sheet, and then hit two utility poles and a bridge while fleeing the scene, authorities say.

Bucks County police found Cohens and the tractor-trailer about 40 minutes later. Cohens New York driver’s license was under suspension, authorities say.

Cohens waived a preliminary hearing on the manslaughter and child porn charges Tuesday.
