MEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — Bill Cosby is visiting Tufts University in Boston, where he is being honored for the groundbreaking work in children’s media he has done with Harvard University psychiatry professor Dr. Alvin Poussaint.
Cosby and Poussaint are to receive Tufts’ Eliot-Pearson Award for Excellence in Children’s Media on Friday. It’s given to those who create media that are free of gender, racial and ethnic stereotypes and make a difference in the lives of children.
The duo wrote the 2007 best-seller “Come on, People,” a book on the state of black families in the United States.
Poussaint was a production consultant for “The Cosby Show” and is director of the media center of the Judge Baker Children’s Center in Boston.
