Creating safe spaces for young women in Kenya

600 million women and girls in places around the world don’t have what US has. There are developing countries with vast needs being helped by organizations like CARE, setting out to help make their lives better.

These young girls are facing rape cases, early marriage and early pregnancy.

These girls are four times more likely than boys to contract HIV, a quarter lose their virginity by four and more than a quarter are child brides. In a majority of homes, the boys go to school and the girls don’t always.

A program, Safe Spaces, from Kenya helps girls recognize their own strength.
