First Lady Michelle Obama is not afraid to get her hands dirty. Mrs. Obama joined 400 volunteers to help build a playground Wednesday at the Imagine Southeast Public Charter School on Alabama Avenue in Washington, D.C.

The event was spearheaded by the national non-profit group KaBOOM!, which is dedicated to saving and creating play space within walking distance for every child, according to organizers.

This is the second time Mrs. Obama has helped the group build a playground.

Imagine School is the only D.C. charter school to provide single-sex education under one roof, with boys and girls in separate classes starting in the first grade.
