Escaped inmate remains elusive in southern Texas

Trent De’Ray Archie, 29, remains on the loose for the second day after escaping the Walker County Jail in Huntsville, Texas around 3 .a.m. Tuesday. Archie assaulted a guard when he claimed he needed to make a phone call and ran away. It is reported a gray vehicle was left for him and he is armed with a 9mm pistol.

Archie is a 6’1” black male who was last seen swearing a white T-shirt and white shorts. He has a large tattoo of a dragon on his right arm from his elbow to his wrist.

Archie had been in jail for two weeks on drug charges but has a history of violence. He was convicted in 2006 of the murder of Anthony Williams in 2004 and sentenced to 40 years in prison. An appeals court reversed the decision in 2009 and was released from state prison in early 2010. Archie also has prior convictions of theft.

Anyone with information about Archie’s location are asked to call local law enforcement.
