Disney and Dreamworks move up release date for 'The Help'

In an effort to capitalize on word of mouth buzz after several positive screenings, Disney and Dreamworks pictures have decided to move up the release date for book turned movie “The Help.” The switch means the film, based on Kathryn Stockett’s runaway best seller, will open nationwide on Wednesday, August 10th instead of August 12th.

The Help was directed by Tate Taylor, Stockett’s longtime friend, and stars Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer as three courageous women who shatter southern town’s unspoken code of rules and behavior, forming an unlikely friendship in the process.
