Voters who need rides to their local Department of Motor Vehicles branch to get a state-issued photo ID will get their chance Sept. 28.
The state Department of Motor Vehicles and Gov. Nikki Haley announced a plan on Wednesday to provide free rides to and from DMV offices statewide on that one day. A yet-to-be-enacted law requires voters to present a state-approved photo ID at the polls.
Voters in need of a ride must call by Sept. 22 to schedule a pickup time.
