Michelle Obama will appear on 'The Tonight Show' to promote 'Let's Move!'

First lady Michelle Obama will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight, where she’s expected to discuss her life in the White House, her fitness initiative for children called “Let’s Move!” and her upcoming book, American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America, which will be published on May 1, 2012. While she’s in Los Angeles, the first lady will also make an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and attend various fund-raising events. The Los Angeles Times has more on the story below:

First lady Michelle Obama will touch down in Los Angeles on Tuesday for a two-day visit in which she plans to appear on talk shows and meet with Democratic Party donors.

She is scheduled to sit down Tuesday with Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” and on Wednesday with Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime talk show (this show will air Thursday).

Obama will be promoting her “Let’s Move!” initiative, which encourages parents to make healthier food choices for their children and to provide more healthful options in schools, and tries to get people to become more physically active in order to curb obesity.
