Grammy-nominated singer Kelly Rowland appeared on Chelsea Lately to promote her most recent album Here I Am. When asked about how she and Lil’ Wayne wound up collaborating on “Motivation,” arguably the most successful single of her solo career, she explained that they met at a Heat basketball game, where Rowland approached him about making an appearance on the already existing song. “Sometimes, artists will be really, a little bit difficult. You go through that Hollywood stuff — I don’t like that — but he just did it.”

Rowland also talks about how Here I Am is an album about being sexy and finding empowerment in your 30s. She’s at a great place in her career, having just returned from working on The X-Factor UK, and also in her personal life, admitting, “I’ve got a good man.”
