Chicago mother speaks out after her 1-year-old was shot

Tonishia Allen is speaking out after she and her 1-year-old were shot while they were home asleep. The shot was fired through the wall of the house and they were both hit by the same bullet. The bullet perforated the child’s head and came out the side of her face. No arrest have been made on the incident but police suspect that is was gang related. The child remains in intensive care. The Huffington Post reports:

A Chicago mother who was shot, along with her daughter, while sleeping in their bedroom in West Pullman is speaking out about the incident.

Tonishia Allen, 24, was released from the hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg, but her 1-year-old daughter Jaliyah remains in intensive care after being shot in the head early Thursday.

Police have no suspects yet, but the family is asking the public for help finding whoever fired the shots into the Allen’s bedroom, according to ABC Chicago.

“We don’t do nothing to nobody; we didn’t deserve it,” Tonishia Allen told the station in an interview. (See video above.) “I just want justice for me and my baby.”
