On Mother’s Day, Sybrina Fulton thanked the people who have reached out to her, and told of her anguish at the loss of her son, Trayvon Martin.
The Miami native sent a plaintive message on Twitter Sunday, referencing a poem by Maya Angelou, as well as her faith.
The tweet read:
As I send you this message, my heart hurts and my eyes are full of tears for my beloved son Trayvon. Truth is, I am so sad today but I know I must stand for my Trayvon and future Trayvons. Although I am down today, it reminds me of Maya Angelou’s poem ‘Still I Rise’. So hopefully after church and spending time with my Mom and family I will feel better but for now, I am saddened. I would like to thank you all for your flowers, cards and the wonderful online messages.
Respectfully Yours,
Sybrina
