A few weeks back, Los Angeles Lakers small forward Metta World Peace (formerly known as Ron Artest) was competing in the NBA playoffs. Since losing a five games series to the Oklahoma City Thunder, World Peace has taken up several television opportunities.
Last week, World Peace stepped in as a weatherman on a Canadian news station, CTV British Columbia (CTVBCNEWS).
Now, as TV Guide reports, World Peace will take on an acting role in a movie depiction of Nancy Grace’s first novel, The Eleventh Victim, a Lifetime network film set to debut in the fall. World Peace will play a Georgia detective who works alongside Atlanta’s District Attorney in pursuit of the conviction of a serial killer.
Sources say World Peace landed the acting role through a friendship he developed with Grace when the two competed on the 13th season of Dancing With the Stars.
World Peace has shown a knack for acting in the past. The video below shows him mocking teammate Kobe Bryant while he served a seven-game suspension after elbowing Thunder guard James Harden near the end of the 2012 NBA regular season.
