Kanye West reportedly 'in talks' to judge 'American Idol'

Just when we thought that we had heard every possible scenario for the panel of judges for the upcoming season of American Idol, this happens.

According to TMZ, Kanye West is reportedly negotiating with producers to become an American Idol judge.

Sources have revealed to TMZ that Idol executives reached out to Kanye about filling one of the open judging spots. However the “Flashing Lights” rapper is allegedly “on the fence, because he’s not sure if American Idol is in his wheelhouse.”

Yesterday reports surfaced that Nicki Minaj was either close to signing or may have already signed on to become an Idol Judge. Mariah Carey recently accepted a seat on the judges’ panel, but at least one other seat remains to be filled.

Aside from Minaj and Kanye, other celebrities that have been rumored to be in the running to become a judge on season 12 of Idol include Aretha Franklin, Pharrell Williams, Enrique Eglesias, Keith Urban, and Brad Paisley.

The big question is… can American Idol viewers handle a weekly dose of a live and un-scripted Kanye West?
