Kanye West caught a lot of flak for using the b-word as a term of endearment for his current girlfriend Kim Kardashian in his new song “Perfect B*tch”. Clearly the criticism got to the hip-hop star who earnestly went to Twitter to ask his fans if it’s “acceptable” to use the word affectionately. The New York Daily News reports:

For a guy touting himself as a “College Dropout,” Kanye West is coming across like a thinker with a philosophy degree.

The 35-year-old rapper took to Twitter Sunday afternoon to muse on the use of “b*tch” and the n-word, phrases often spouted in his line of work.

“I usually never tweet questions but I struggle with this so here goes… Is the word B*TCH acceptable,” he tweeted, sparking a running back and forth with fans.

“To be more specific, is it acceptable for a man to call a woman a bitch even if it’s endearing,” he added seconds later.
