‘Chris Brownout’: A new app will block all mentions of Chris Brown

Not a big fan of Chris Brown? No problem. It seems the people behind Canadian music channel Aux don’t like the R&B crooner much either — and they’ve come up with just the solution.

It’s called the “Chris Brownout.” Aux developed the online plug-in to essentially erase any traces of Chris Brown from your browser. That’s right, the Google Chrome plug-in blocks any references to Brown’s name and places boxes over his images.

The description on the Chrome web store says the extension’s purpose is to “scrub the internet of Chris Brown.”

Aux says on its website the plug-in is in response to recent reports that Chris Brown tattooed what appears to be Rihanna’s battered face on his neck. Brown has denied these claims.

“It’s become clear that he remained impulsive and unapologetic and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon,” Aux said on its site. “So, we here at AUX Labs took it upon ourselves to get rid of him.”

Aux also created the Nickelblock plug-in, which erases mentions of oft-maligned band Nickelback from the Internet.
