NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) — Rapper Jim Jones has pleaded guilty to interfering with police in connection with a February brawl at a Connecticut casino.
The Day newspaper reports Jones appeared in New London Superior Court on Tuesday and paid a $1,000 fine to resolve the criminal case.
Jones initially was charged with breach of peace, interfering with police and inciting to riot after the fight in the foyer of the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort Casino. The brawl followed a party hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs in honor of the casino’s 20th anniversary.
Jones is a hip-hop artist and actor whose “We Fly High” was one of 2007’s top-selling rap tracks. He’s one of the Diplomats, a New York-based rap crew. He’s identified in court files as Joseph Jones, of Newark, New Jersey.
