Was Jesse Jackson Jr. clubbing when he was supposed to be convalescing

Embattled Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., who is still under investigation for ethics violations, has now been accused of bar-hopping while he is supposed to be receiving treatment for severe depression.

The Chicago lawmaker, who has been on an extended leave of absence for months, reportedly was spotted at Bier Baron Tavern, a Washington D.C. bar, on two nights last week with different women who were not his wife.

“They were laughing and very focused on each other,” one source told Gawker. “Not sure when they left but I saw them there around 10:30 p.m. They didn’t appear intoxicated or loud, but were definitely enjoying themselves.”

Besides his ethics troubles, Jackson Jr. has also been accused of marital infidelity in the past.

In 2010, it was widely reported that the congressman had an extramarital affair with Giovanna Huidobro, a D.C. restaurant hostess and model. While he never denied the allegations outright, at a press conference he said, “The reference to a social acquaintance is a personal and private matter between me and my wife that was handled some time ago.”

According to reports, federal prosecutors are probing the congressman’s finances, including allegations that he illegally used campaign funds to redecorate his home in the capitol.

Jackson Jr.’s spokesman Frank Watkins says he is “under a doctor’s care for bipolar disorder.”
