HBO to adapt Broadway's 'Stick Fly' from playwright Lydia Diamond and producer Alicia Keys

HBO has chosen Stick Fly as their latest Broadway to cable-movie venture.

The drama that opened in 2009 in Los Angeles, is about a wealthy African-American family who vacations on Martha’s Vineyard, and issues they are exposed to while on vacation.

Stick Fly made its way to Broadway in 2011.

Playwright Lydia Diamond is set to adapt the play for the premium cable channel.  Diamond will be receiving help from award-winning producers Alicia Keys and Nelle Nugent, who have also agreed to work on the HBO movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
