Rapper Rick Ross is being sued for allegedly stealing his stage name from Ricky Donnell Ross, a reputed Los Angeles drug trafficker.
This isn’t the first time the two have been to court over the name.
The last ruling ordered drug dealer Rick Ross to pay for Rozay’s legal fees to a tune of $500,000.
This time around, however, several top music executives that have worked with the rapper Rick Ross have been subpoenaed.
The New York Post reports that ex-Warner exec Lyor Cohen, Warner CEO Stephen Cooper, and Warner director Edgar Bronfman Jr. are all expected to testify.
While the MMG CEO, born William Roberts, claims his Rick Ross stage name came from a high school nickname, drug dealer Rick Ross claims the rapper stole it.
The trial starts in L.A. this August.
