Fans of rapper Kid Cudi’s acting on the now defunct HBO series How to Make it in America have reason to celebrate.
The emo hip-hop star has signed on a role in the upcoming racing film Need for Speed, which is based on a popular Electronic Arts video game.
The movie stars Emmy nominee Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame, as well as Dominic Cooper and Imogen Poots.
Paul will play a race car driver out for revenge after being framed for his friend’s death. Cudi will play a member of his pit crew.
Need for Speed will be “rooted in the tradition of the great car-culture films of the ’70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise,” a DreamWorks release said.
