This week’s book list: A man recounts his 'real' trip to hell, and more

With so much talk about the weird weather, rumors of war, and the new pope, we thought it might be useful to feature a book by someone who claims to have literally gone to hell.

With so much talk about the weird weather, rumors of war, and the new pope, we thought it might be useful to feature a book by someone who claims to have literally gone to hell. The No. 1 book on our Hit List this week is 23 Minutes in Hell by Bill Wiese, who chronicles his “real-life” experiences in the fiery pits among demons.

We are also offering The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook, which should keep you healthy long enough to avoid Wiese’s plight. And we have Taiye Selasi’s debut novel (released this week), Ghana Must Go, a craftily written tome about a Ghanian doctor whose secrets threaten to demolish his families. (Yes, he has two families and neither one knew about the other.)
